Fighter or “Passer”

I’ve been through a lot of things in my personal and family life. That turned me into a fighter. I always strive to be the best I possibly can.

Are you the fighter or “passer” in your relationship? In every relationship, there is what I like to call a fighter and a “passer” and although at times there are role reversals. In the end there are always both in a relationship. In defining relationship I mean all: friendships, romantic, working, family, ALL.

The Fighter: The one that is the fire. The one that breaths that breath of fresh air. The one that lights the fire. This person is the person that fights for the relationship. I am not talking about being the protector, I am talking about the one in the relationship that fights for what they believe in.
Often times this person is categorized as a spit fire… Or worse, but at this time I shall maintain the positive.

The passer: This person is the more passive of the two. Not a push over or a punk, but just the take it in stride. Sometimes though this person does let things go in hopes of “keeping the peace” or because they felt it was “unnecessary” to fight for the cause.

Remember my previous statement, on any normal semi well adjusted relationship these two take role reversals. In the end there is always one more dominant of one of the traits.

As a woman, I have found myself in both positions but without question I am the fighter. I am not talking about fighting with my other half (although I have been known to be adamant from time to time 😝). How I show my love and care in my relationship is being that spit fire! Making sure that everyone and everything knows I will protect it. I am the one that will reprimand my child and then taking for an adventure, after the lesson is learned. I call it zest!
I am a fighter to the core… If I fight for my relationships I fight with every ounce of my being. Once I realize I have given everything I have and there is no resurrection then I become the passer.

I thought about this topic from watching the movie “This is 40”. If you haven’t watched it, you should!

So I believe I have exhausted the topic… Have you decided which one you are yet?

Xoxo,
Me
