Traditions

Science and technology revolutionize our lives, but memory, tradition and myth frame our response.
Arthur M. Schlesinger

It’s that time of year where traditions are apparent and welcomed. This year I have the beautiful fortune of starting new ones. The excitement that is brewing within me is beyond earth shattering. So I wanted to ask you this year, what are your traditions? I am excited to consider the possibilities.

I would love to hear what you guys do!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and sending nothing but love to all of you!

Why Seasonal Giving?

I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.
Maya Angelou

Every year it strikes me, why is there just one season of giving? People only seem to want to give during the “holidays”… Why is that? People save up all year and then give between Thanksgiving and New Years. Do people not NEED throughout the year?

I realize that many people can’t give year around, but volunteering is free! I also realize that many give for tax purposes (which is a story in and of itself), so they wait till the end of the year. I just can’t help but think of that family that needs cloths, food,or shelter, but only get the spotlight shined on them during the holidays.

HEY… Society… WAKEY WAKEY! People are not in need just during the holidays, they are in need EVERYDAY… Just figured I would shine some light on a subject that has always irked a particular nerve of mine.

Just my thoughts… XOXO,
UD…
